Maurya Ellen Murphey is a self-taught artist, born in Houston Texas in 1975. A child of two actors, she grew up as a theatre brat, and spent the early part of her life moving around between California, Oregon, Washington, and New Mexico. After coming dangerously close to finishing a B.F.A degree in classical guitar performance, she left school to focus on raising her 2 wonderful children. Her time is spent balancing a full-time day job, family and art.
